When the walls are down,

It’s not about

what’s sensationalized

or homogenized

and sanitized.

When the armor is off,

the skin’s exposed.

Nerves are on the surface.

Ready to receive

E-lec-tri-city.

Charged and on fire.

Walking tightrope

and high-tension wire.

Not ready for surrender;

on a six-week bender.

Pour another, bartender.

I’m making up the rules as I go along;

I’ve never known the lyrics to this song.

At this point in my life:

My heart is on my sleeve;

my soul is on display.

I don’t know

how to live

any other

way.
